Anatomy of a page: Disney / Anatomy Lesson: A map

Hello!

Here is a two-page spread that will be part of my holiday album Disney (2009 ... whew!). I like to include more photos in my pages, which leaves little room for paper to elaborate designs. But there are still many things to see here. Shop around with me.

Here Is A double page layout I made for my Disney vacation album (2009 ...!). I do prefer to include SEVERAL pictures in my layouts, Which leaves less room for fancy patterned papers, There Are Still purpose Quite a Few Things going on here. Let's take a closer look.

First, I custom papers acien Collections Basic Grey by printing on to the computer (click on picture to see better detail). On the left page, I printed the word "dream" repeatedly, and changing color in every line. Then I set my box to a sheet of printer paper before printing. On the left page, I did the same thing, but with the word "Wish". To print the entire length of the right sheet, I simply selected the 8.5 x 14 in my Word document. On chaque page se trouve les photos correspondant à l'événement inscrit.

First, I personalized some of my patterned papers (old Basic Grey papers) by printing words directly onto my patterned papers (click on the photo to see the details). On the left page, I printed the word «dream», repeated in different colors on each line. I temporarily adhered my paper to a sheet of printer paper and ran it through the printer. I repeated this process on the right page, but with the word «wishes». To print the full length og the right-side paper, I simply selected the 8.5 x 14 format in my Word document. The photos are placed on the layout according Written Down To The Event.

I wanted my photos to be printed professionally, even if they were small sizes, so I prepared myself "photo boards" large format (9 "x13") for get exactly what I wanted. The detailed procedure for this is here.

I wanted all my photos to Have Professionally printed, events the small ones, so I made my own (9 "x13") "photo plates" to get EXACTLY what i wanted. The complete step-by-step instructions for this are here.

The lettering is a mixture of alphabets purchased, modified and hybrids. The title "dream" is chipboard, ink and embossed twice with clear powder. The title "Wishes" is an alphabet that I printed on a computer, plotted on a plain card and then I embellished "doodling" and also twice embossed with clear powder.

The letters are a mix Between Bought, homemade and Altered alphabets. "Dream" forfaitaire of chipboard letters That I Have inked and heat-embossed Twice in clear. "Wishes" forfaitaire from computer-printed letters are solid cardstock, we doodled and heat-embossed aussi Twice in Clear.

Disney characters are a mix of printed images to the computer and images stamped and colored with colored pencils. Here's a link to a site full of images while Disney Free: http://disney-clipart.com/

The Disney characters are On The layout has mix of art and computer-printed Hand-colored and stamped images. Here Is alink to a website full of free Disney clipart: http://disney-clipart.com/

The "belt" in the lower left corner my two-page spread, is made of mulberry paper and a loop home. To accomplish this, I cut a circle to the punch, then using an "exacto" I cut inside the circle into a loop (see picture below). I then set sparkles all around and covered the whole of adhesive Glossy Accents (Ranger) to make it very shiny and very solid.

The "belt "In The lower left-hand corner of my layout of mulberry paper forfaitaire slid Through a homemade buckle. To Create the buckle, I punched a circle, Then, using a craft knife, I cut out the middle to make it Into a buckle shape (see picture above). Then I Glued little gems all around and topped Everything With A good coat of Glossy Accents (Ranger) to make it all shiny and secure.

Disney is full of "hidden Mickeys". What's this? It is the shape of Mickey Mouse ears that we recognize in the arrangement of objects on the various sites. I wanted to reproduce this amusing detail on my page, what I did with buttons and Dew Drops (Robin's Nest). How do you Mickeys?

Disney is full of "Hidden Mickeys" .. What is that? It's The Shape of Mickey ears found all over-the sites, Through the placement of objects and lights, etc.. I wanted to Reproduce this fun detail on my layout, so i used buttons and Dew Drops (Robin's Nest) to do it. How Many Mickeys do you count?

Closing. Notice how all the page elements are "connected": the paper for photos, decorative elements. All this helps to direct the eye on the double page.

The Last Word. Note how all the page elements are connected: The Paper To The photos, embellishments To The ... All this Gives To The layout direction, "driving" the eye-through The double page.

900 Watt Hour Battery

J'hallucine! Photo

Sometimes I think that teacher schools or instit it must be nice as job during my studies I also thought to take the examination. but often I tell myself it's also a job that must be difficult and that seemed particularly demanding. Even more since I read it! A teacher
strongly criticized in her work for her students learned a song in French and Arabic. Sometimes I really wonder what goes through people's heads. Is if the song was in English, German or English would have been different? Unfortunately, I feel that this would be the case. It would certainly praised his teaching. What better way to learn a song?

The Best Of Tracey Adams

Faux Washi Tape

Hello!

Finally, I'm back with my washi false step, as promised.
As Promised, here is (finally!) my washi slap technique.

I remind you what I did with / A Reminder of What I Did With mine :

To begin you will need / You Will Need:
  • Teflon pad (I use the large carpet My Tattered Angels) / CRAFT sheet (i used the big pink sheet from My Tattered Angels)
  • Tissue Paper / Tissue Paper
  • Mod Podge Glue Paper / Mod Podge glue paper
  • Brush Foam / Foam brush

  1. Place sheet of tissue paper (I used pink pale) and spray Glimmer Mist (I used the colors Indian Corn Call Caramel Delight and Peach). Let dry. / The Place On The craft tissue paper sheet and spray With Glimmer Mists (I Used Indian Corn, Caramel and Peach Delight Call). Let dry.
  2. Once dry ( about 15 minutes), coat of Mod Podge using the foam brush. Be careful not to weigh too much, to avoid tearing the paper. Beyond the edges to coat, then you can remove the excess when it's dry. / Once dry (about 15 min.) Cover Mod Podge With Using The foam brush. Be Careful not to press too hard On The brush gold you'll Tear the paper. It's OK to go Over the Edge, Can Be The excess removed aftr it's dry.
  3. Once everything is thoroughly dry (may take a few hours, but the Mod Podge will dry slightly sticky even) print patterns to stamp on any surface. I used polymer stamps from Hot Off The Press (Bold Patterns and Delicate Patterns: HOTP HOTP-1010 and 1014). Mod Podge has made the surface less porous, so it is wise to use ink Staz On. CAUTION : Never use cleaners Staz-On on a polymer stamp. Just clean with a damp cloth immediately after use and it will remain not stained. / Once dry (may take a few "hours, But The Mod Podge Will Remain Slightly sticky), stamp all over-the paper (I Used Hot Off The Press' Delicate Patterns and Bold Patterns: HOTP HOTP-1010 and 1014) . The Glue Will Make the tissue paper glossy, So You Will Need to use solvent-based ink (Staz-On). SECURITY: Never Used Staz-On is clearn polymer stamps. Just Clean It With A damp rag after stamping and It Will not stain).
  4. Peel off the sheet of Teflon mat, place on a cutting mat and cut into strips of desired width using a rotary cutter and a good rule to cork backing. / Remove The Paper From The craft sheet and place it on a cutting mat. Using The rotary cutter and metal ruler, cut in strips of In The width your choice.
NOTE: I chose to prepare a large quantity, but one can easily reduce the scale. Try a 12 "long, so you can use your fake washi tape as a border on a scrapbook page.

This Week Was The First Television scrapbooking segment for 2011. I Had Prepared Demonstration is a liquid applied, as usual purpose, There Is Much More Than material this time to it. So I Suggest you Download the complete article , Which contains a bonus Liquid Applied technical background!

Here is the page shown on the show. It has some interesting techniques that I share here with you.

Here Is The On The Page I Presented segment. It Demonstrates techniques SEVERAL Interesting That I Want to Share with you here.

SUBSTANTIVE "Spritz" HOUSE / HOMEMADE SPRITZ BACKGROUND

The background is a plain white cardboard I sprayed "spritz" home. To create my ink spray, I used a Mini Mister (Ranger), in which I poured water to about half. I added a dropper full of Faded Jeans Distress Ink (Ranger) and powder Perfect Pearls (Ranger) - The end of a stick to coffee for each color - Forever in Blue, Turquoise Blue and Interference. Just shake well off, I never managed to plug a Mini Mister. Before spraying, I laid on my back the Glimmer Screens by Tattered flakes Angels.

The background is a plain white sheet of cardstock spritzed with a home made mist. To create my mist, I filled a Mini Mister (Ranger) halfway with water. I then added a full dropper of Faded Jeans Distress ink (Ranger) and some Ranger Perfect Pearls - the tip of a coffee stirring stick for each color - in Forever Blue, Interference Blue and Turquoise. Just shake very well, I have yet to see a blocked Mini Mister... Finally, before spraying, I placed the Snowflakes Glimmer Screens from Tattered Angels on the sheet as masks.

TECHNIQUE MASTERBOARD /  MASTERBOARD TECHNIQUE

As patterned paper, I used a paper of my creation. You can download the complete instructions here . I then used this paper as accents - the bands at the bottom of the page flakes aligned with the photo and the background against which I submitted my text.

As year focus and background paper to my journaling, i used my very own "masterboard" for Which You Can Also Download the complete instructions here .

PRINT ON THE VELLUM / PRINTING ON Vellum

I wrote my text on the computer and I printed on vellum, for transparency. Thus, the text remains readable on the background pattern while blurring somewhat it without making it disappear. To print on vellum (with ink jet printer), I do it as follows:

  • first time I print on plain paper
  • I place the piece of vellum over the text printed on vellum by securing with a small adhesive tape Scotch Magic Tape, "that is to say the white one, because it is removable.
  • I then replaced the paper in the printer and I print again.
  • I leave to stand for several minutes until it is dry - Vellum is nonporous, so the ink does not penetrate, but rather remains on the surface
  • It remains only to cut the vellum and attach it to the bottom - I used mini glue pellets I camouflaged by diamonds.
I printed my journaling is vellum, for transparency. This Way, The text IS legible, it aims doesn't mask the background completely. To print on vellum, here is what I do:
  • I print a first time on regular paper
  • I attach a piece of vellum over the printed text, using some «Magic Scotch Tape» - the one that is white i.e. removable
  • I place the paper back in the printer and print again, this time on the vellum
  • I let sit a few minutes to dry completely - vellum is not porous, so ink doesn't sink in it, rather it sits on top.
  • I trim the piece of vellum and attach it to the background, I Used Mini Glue Dots That I hid behind gems.
EDGE PHOTO / PHOTO BORDER

I used a round punch to cut three flakes on my background motif. Then, I used this round as a template, I cut half-circles on the edge of the picture - be careful cutting the right place when the camera is returned;).

i used a round punch to cut out snowflakes from my masterboard Three, And Then I Used Those circles as a template to cut out From the half-circle photo border - Be Careful On The cut to proper border oz The photo is Turned over;)

TITLE HYBRID / HYBRID TITLE

To create the second part of my title (like snow), I used a small simple technology transfer, as a kid: To download the illustrated instructions, follow this link .
To Create the second part of my title (like snow), I Used a simple little transfer technique That I Used to do as a child: rubbing. For the illustrated instructions are how to create this effect, follow this link .

Tips On Building With Balsa Wood

Page and I'm flying! / Let's fly away!

Well, in my dreams maybe! But still. I recently bought the magazine Take Ten publications Somerset. I did've never subscribed, but I like to buy it from time to time, there are still many fine examples of maps, technical and, in each issue, a template challenge. Simply complete projects according to the template provided and send them and they chose a series for publication. In the past, the deadline for submission was January 15, and since I'd just buy it, I know that my creations will not travel in time.

Right! In my dreams! Well, One Can Always Dream! I Recently Purchased Somerset Publications' Take Ten magazine. I'm not a subscriber, I do like to get it to Once in a while. It's Always very inspiring, full of card examples, Some techniques and a template for projects to send in for publication. This Time, It Was A hot air balloon. For the first one, i used patterned paper (Bo Bunny), Some recycled watch and share a pearl Prima swirl. Because The swirl has a sticky back, I Added a piece of acetate That Goes Behind the hand off the edge.

I covered the second pages of old book and I added a butterfly drawn on a remnant of chipboard and covered also the page of text. I inked all the Distress Inks Ranger and added a touch of bling.
I Covered With The Second One old book pages and did "The Same For A Butterly I Traced cardstock leftover from a chipboard sheet. Then I inked Everything in Contrasting Ranger Distress Ink colors and Added a little bling.

Finally, the third, I again cover page of text, but without color and I also put strips of "washi fake tape" of my garment and added some flowers and "Dew Drops." Is this not how pretty?

Snowboard Airbag Jump

Happy New Year 2011!

As every 1st January, it is fashionable to make our resolutions for the coming year. I'm usually like, "My resolution for me is to take no resolution! But today I decided I swayed a little.

A new trend seems to emerge among bloggers and especially scrapbooking. In the vein of "Art Journaling" and pages of introspection (by example the "Book of Me"): this is to choose a word that will define and inspire us for years to come. I find this approach to resolutions is somewhat interesting, because we que'elle guarantees a certain degree of success) Instead of deciding to do 18 different things, each more difficult than the other, we can choose a comprehensive concept that will allow us to work on yourself gradually, without discouragement.

My friends in the art of scrapbooking forum have already begun to choose their word for the year 2011 and I decided to follow suit. It took me think a bit to find a word to define me and be my resolution, but I finally opted for the word SLOW.

Yes, like everyone else, I fear, I run all the time, I constantly feel that the days are too short and too loaded and I'll never accomplish everything that I have to do, much less what I would do! It's a difficult choice as I do, because I am a person who likes action. I enjoy learning new things and enjoy the beautiful things I've already learned, but 24 hours a day is too short ...!

So in 2011 I want to take more time to enjoy the passing moment. And you, what word will you choose?
